Diabetes is one common health problem nowadays. It affects so many people both young and old. And as long as there are many who are uninformed about it, the incidence of this disease will continue to rise.

At the start it can be simple but things can get worse if left untreated. Thisi is why it is necessary for everyone to get as much symptoms of diabetes info as they can. Here's a good look at the disease and its symptoms.

Defining terms

There are some important terms that you need to understand in order to have a full grasp of what the disease is all about. The following are three keywords when we speak of the disease:

* Metabolism- is the process in which the body breaks down the food we eat in order to get all the nutrients and pass them on to the different parts of the body.

* Glucose- is the term for sugar when inside the body, especially the blood. This is the main ingredient for cell nourishment.

* Insulin-is the hormone produced by the pancreas and works to make the cells absorb the glucose from the blood. This lowers the level of glucose in the blood.

What is diabetes?

It is a metabolic disorder where the sugar levels in the blood rise and become too high. this can be caused either by the lack of production of insulin or the unresponsiveness of the cells to the prompts of the insulin. This causes the glucose to stay in the blood. This causes various problems and can get even worse if untreated. Some even experience organ failure or some lose their limbs.

What are the symptoms of diabetes?

There are a few symptoms for those who weren't able to get diagnosed and treaterd. Some of which are nausea and vomiting. They may also have increased incidence of various infections in the skin and vaginal areas. Diabetics would also lose weight despite the rise in appetite. Tests would show an increased level of sugar in the blood and urine. There are also those who would experience blurred vision, and sometimes even cause lethargy and coma.
