How People Can Pick The Effective Sugar Substitutes That Help With Weight Loss

Nowadays, more and more people are trying to find a way to replace sugar. This is down to the fact that recent studies have shown that a diet that is low in sugar is a lot more effective than crash diets. Although finding a replacement for sugar will certainly be beneficial for your health, there is growing concern so as to which are the effective sugar substitutes that help with weight loss.

As much as you want to slim, an effective substitute should not endanger your health at the expense of controlling body mass. It is not that other replacements such as Saccharin, Aceseulfame-K (Ace-K) and Aspartame have been given a clear chit. In fact, Aspartame is considered very dangerous and is known to lead to headaches, diarrhea, vomiting, dizziness and abdominal pain! These side effects are far more grave and costly than using some other method of losing mass. Similarly, Acesulfame-K is a chemical based on methylene chloride which is known to be cancer causing. Even so Ace-K is used often as a preservative and food enhancer.

Aceseulfame-K is a chemical zed substitute appearing in a lot of foods as a preservative and flavor enhancer. However, even though Ace-K is commonly used as a replacement, its constituents comprise of methylene chloride which is known to be carcinogenic.

Saccharin, which is an artificial sweetener found in some diet sodas and chewing gums, has aroused controversy as researchers have indentified it to be the cause of bladder cancer in experimental rat and hence, it is deemed relatively not safe for human consumption. Owing that it has no calories, most people arrogantly dismiss its health complications and use it. However, it is important to note that there are available healthy enhancers and you do not have to risk you health at the expense of the so said effective calorie free replacement.

Stevia in particular is more refined and does not leave an after taste. It is therefore an ideal and healthy replacement. The main point is that one should always make an informed choice and not just select an artificial sweetener on the ground of taste or its effectiveness in helping you lose weight.

Although most people believe that any sweetener they get will help them lose weight, it is now obvious that not all the alternatives on offer are beneficial. It is of vital importance that you keep in mind that the sugar substitute you go for should not pose a threat to your health.
